** ATTENTION: RAKETA (Rocket) - Blood Red Hammer and Sickle USSR
Wristwatch (circa 1980s). Located in St. Petersburg, Russia, this watch designing and manufacturing firm produced mechanical and automatic wristwatches, pocket watches and clocks for the Soviet Union’s military and civilian markets. The firm managed to survive after the collapse of the USSR (CCCP) but inevitably closed down their factory around 1995. They produced some of the most unique, highly specialized, patriotic and memorable watches in the history of Russian watch making. Many of their watches are now Cold War relics and continue to gain popularity amongst collectors around the world. This is a real warm reminder of the Cold War! The blood red smooth enamel finished metal dial is in mint condition, complete with discrete hour marker dots at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions, and a gold Sickle Hour hand and Hammer minute hand and sweeping gold center seconds hand. Signed in Cyrillic below the 12 o'clock position and also at the base of the dial. The original domed crystal is in excellent condition as is the gold finished case. The winding crown is gold finished and in excellent shape as well. It is a New OId Stock piece that I acquired from a collector of USSR (CCCP) artifacts. I had it oiled and time checked and it is running fine and keeping excellent time. It has a mechanical wind movement with 16 jewels. The round case is gold plated and measures 1-3/8" across and 1-5/8" lug to lug. It is fitted with a new black genuine leather strap. $45.00 (Priority USPS Shipping is $5.50)

Commemorative Wristwatch (circa early 1990s). This is an unusual piece as it is a commemorative to a Russian Emperor. During the times of the USSR regime I don't think that the Raketa Watch Company would have manufactured such a piece, but soon after the collapse of the Soviet Union the Russian Federation strived to restore Russian pride and history and this watch surely makes a historic statement. The black and gold enamel finished metal dial is in mint condition, complete with Roman numeral hour markers at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions and a 60 minutes/seconds track along the edge. It features a bust image of Nicholas II and a Russian symbol. It is signed in Russian "Russian Emperor and Autocrat Nicholas II." The original domed crystal is in excellent condition as is the gold finished case. The winding crown is gold finished and in excellent shape as well. It is a New OId Stock piece that I acquired from a collector of USSR (CCCP) artifacts. I had it oiled and time checked and it is running fine and keeping excellent time.
