Evans - French Made, Square Case and Dial, 17 Jewels with a Very Unusually Positioned Date Feature Located Between the Four and Five O'clock Positions (circa '60s)

Description/Comments:
This is one gorgeous sixties square dress watch featuring a very unusual positioned date feature with a pearl white dial design.  

This watch is in excellent cosmetic and running condition.  In fact, it keeps very accurate time.

Case:
The square shaped case is yellow gold tone plated with a stainless steel back. It measures 1 3/16" across (including the crown) and 1 1/2" (from lug to lug.)   It is 5/16" thick. 

The back of the case is marked Base Metal Bezel and Stainless Steel Back.

The inside of the case is marked Unisales Inc., Made in France.

Dial:
The square dial has a pearl white background with a eye-catching brush finish that has a starburst effect when light reflects from it.  The dial is marked Evans and 17 Jewels below the 12 o'clock position.  All lettering is in black tone.

There hour markers at all positions are applied and raised rectangular shapes.

The date feature is unusually located between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions and has black lettering for the days against a white background.

The baton style hour and minutes hands are a gold  tone in color.  

There is a seconds sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position with a gold tone sweeping hand and featuring a black cross hair design for the seconds scale.

The crystal has a slightly curved surface and is square at the edges and is raised 2MM above the surface of the case.

Band:
A brown colored 18mm regular size genuine leather strap with raised and padded designs.  It has silver tone buckle that perfectly matches the entire watch.
Movement:
French Made 17 Jewels Mechanical Wind in like-new condition marked Montrex SA, Seventeen 17 Jewels, France, Unadjusted, MDL B.
