Description/Comments:
This is one of those rare finds that includes a near mint immaculate conditioned Elgin Durapower wristwatch with extended long tapered lugs from 1950 with its original box and papers.

This watch is in excellent cosmetic and running condition, and is an absolutely beautiful timepiece. It keeps accurate time.

Case:
The round shaped 10K gold filled case measures 1 3/16" across (including the crown) and 1 5/8" (top to bottom.)  It is 1/4" thick.  The crown is located at the 3 o'clock position.  The back of the screw down case has a dedication and is engraved 10K Gold Filled. The lugs are long tapered and extended.  Inside the snap back case cover it reads: 5710 Cased and Timed by Elgin Watch Co., Shwab & Wushpard, 10KT. Gold Filled.

Dial:
The round dial had a mint silver satin background. The hour markers at the 12, 2, 4, 8 and 10 are Arabic numerals and raised and applied and gold toned.  The remainder of the hour markers are rectangular shaped that are raised and applied and gold toned. It is marked Elgin, De Luxe below the 12 o'clock position.  There is a very large seconds sub-dial above the 6 o'clock position that features a swirled pattern and black enamel markers.

The crystal has a slight curvature on the surface and angular sides and is raised 4MM above the case at its center.

Band:
High quality evergreen colored 16mm smooth leather handcrafted padded and sewn marked deBeer Europa.   It has a gold tone buckle.  The total length is 9."
Movement:
USA Mechanical Wind.  MOVEMENT READS: ELGIN 555 USA, N231469, 4 ADJ. 17 Jewels.
