Hilton - 57 Jewel Automatic Swiss Movement in Excellent Condition (circa '50s)

Description/Comments:
Here is an all original vintage fifties wrist watch featuring a 57 Jewel Automatic movement.

This watch is in excellent cosmetic and running condition and keeping splendid time.  Recent Servicing (August 2001): oiling and cleaning, new crystal and crown and time adjusted.

Case:
The round shaped yellow gold tone plated case measures 1 3/8" across (including the crown) and 1 5/8" (lug to lug.)  It is 1/4" thick.  The crown is located at the 3 o'clock position.  The back of the screw down case is marked Stainless Steel Back, Swiss, Waterproof, Antimagnetic, Incabloc and the number 614.7.  The inside of the case back is marked Hilton Watch Co.

Dial:
The round dial has a satin gold background. 

The hour maker at the 12 is a gold toned raised and applied Arabic numeral, and the remaining are diamond shape with a center engraved groove and they are gold toned raised and applied as well.

The dauphine-style hour and minutes hands are gold in color with a black streamlined center line.  And the thin sweeping seconds hand is gold in color as well.

The crystal has a slight curvature on the surface and angular sides and is raised 4MM above the case at its center. 

It is marked Hilton and 57 Jewels with 2 red stars below the 12 o'clock position, and  Automatic and Incabloc above the 6 o'clock position, and Swiss Made below the 6 o'clock position.
