Slava - Russian-Made, Soviet Union Symbolization CCCP and the Red Star With the Hammer and Sickle - A Warm Reminder of the "Cold War," 21 Ruby Jewels (circa 2001)
Description/Comments:
This is a brand new Russian made 21 jewel mechanical wind watch (yes mechanical wind watches are still manufactured!) It is a warm reminder of the "Cold War," with it's Soviet Union symbolized dial (Red Star with the hammer and sickle and the red colored CCCP initials.)
Case:
The barrel shaped chrome case measures 1 5/8" across (including the crown) and 1 5/8" (lug-to-lug.) It is 7/16" thick. There is a functioning rotating bezel with 60 minute increments (white background with red lettering to match the dial.) The screw-down back is marked Slava, Made in Russia and has the number 12.
Dial:
The round dial has a white background with black Arabic numbers, and there is a sixty second and minute circular scale surrounding the outer circumference of the dial. The scale is marked at every fifth position with a black Arabic number and thick black lines in between each numeral. The Soviet Symbols: Red Star with the hammer and sickel is located in the upper central section and the Soviet initials CCCP is at the lower central section. It has the date feature located at the 3 o'clock position. The Russian spelled 'Slava' is marked above the 6 o'clock position and Made in USSR is under the 6 o'clock position.
The index-style hour and minute hands are silver in color with a black streamlined stripe running down the center. The sweep seconds hand is solid red in color.
The crystal has a flat surface and is flush with the bezel.
Band:
18MM genuine leather that is black in color. It has a silver tone buckle. The total length is 9."
