This is an impressive and rarely seen high grade platinum Art Deco era
wristwatch of superlative design that I saw on ebay in July of 2001. It
impressed me so much that I saved as much information about it as possible and
one day I hope to find one like it and buy it.
Paul
Ditisheim's very unusual platinum case with sculptured moving lugs
designed in the shape of tubes. The lugs bend at two points so that the watch
may be worn not only on top of the wrist but also on the side (driver's style).
The bezel is beautifully sculpted and raised on the side & back and is
inscribed with the serial number 110625, and the dial is very attractive, with
raised, fancy Art Deco style hour markers and Arabic numerals, both set with
diamonds. (circa 1920s or 1930s.)

The movement is oval
shaped and very high grade and is signed "Paul Ditisheim" Swiss, 17
Jewels, 2 Adjustments (adjusted to 2 two Positions and Temperatures.) The
ratchet wheel is signed Depollier, New-York. The case measures 45mm lug to lug,
and the width is 21mm. Art Deco era platinum watches are extremely rare,
especially ones that have unique case designs.

This particular watch is a perfect example of the
finest craftsmanship that is rare
even by Art Deco standards. Its extraordinary design was inspired and
driven by a combination of a world of wealth and a world of creativity akin to
the
Renaissance period, a golden era in horology, which brought us exquisitely
designed timepieces that are timeless in character and style.
