American Waltham "Broadway" - (circa
1878) - Excellent Overall Condition, Key Set and Key Wind Mechanical Movement
with a Coin Silver Open Face Case. This is a very nice classic American pocket watch with a key set and key wind operation. It is a circa 1878 American Waltham "Broadway" model Coin Silver 18 size Open Face Pocket Watch. It has recently been oiled, cleaned and time adjusted and is running fine and keeping time. The case is in superb condition, with a nice engraving on the back cover, and is 2 1/8" in diameter and is marked Warranted Silver Coin and the number 12 on the back cover and 2 Oz. and the number 12528426 on the dust cover. The crown and bow are located at the 12 o'clock position. It has a very flat crystal. The dial is in great condition with a white background color highlighted with black colored Roman Numeral hour marker and a large seconds sub-dial with a detailed outer track. The hands are gun metal colored and have a very sleek antique style design. This antique piece is operated with a key to set the time and to wind the movement. The movement is marked Waltham, Mass., A.W.C. Broadway and the serial number 1247019 (which dates the production of this piece to 1878.) The central portion of the double hinged case has two raised sections which makes it easy to open the front and back covers. Extraordinary Overall Nice Condition . Here is a vintage (circa 1917) Hampden Pocket Watch with a beautiful dial. It is a 16 size case that is marked Illinois Watch Case Co., Nickel, Elgin USA and the number 0958072. The bezel has coin cut engravings around the entire perimeter. The near mint dial is marked Hampden and has an engraved Art Deco design in the central section and stylish angled Arabic numerals. The sunken seconds sub-dial is neatly marked with Arabic numerals and lines. The damaskeened mechanical wind movement is marked Wm. McKinley, Canton, O., Safety Pinion, 17 Jewels, Adjusted, and the serial number 3590734 (which dates this piece to 1917.) This watch is functioning mechanically and keeping good time.
