The Waltham Watch Company of Waltham, Massachusetts was founded, in 1850, by Aaron Dennison and E. Howard. Their goal was to produce watches with interchangeable parts that would be less expensive for the consumer with a high standard of quality.  Waltham remained in business from 1850 to 1959. American President Abraham Lincoln owned a Waltham watch. Waltham watches are highly respected by collectors and admirers alike and the company stands as one of the greats in the history of United States horology.

I don't know about you but I've never seen this style of wristwatch before!  It is a U.S.A.  Waltham. The hinged case measures 1-1/4" across and 1-1/2" top to bottom and has a snap off back cover (within the case that holds the movement in place.)  The round dial is a white color and is highlighted with Roman numerals and is signed Waltham and 17 Jewels.  The bezel is very unusually designed with very ornate and detailed links surrounding the dial. The antique style hour and minute hands are black.   The unusually wide gold toned mesh bracelet is from the Whiting & Davis Co. and measures 1-1/8" wide and has metal gold toned fringes at the top section that are fitted into the case.  The 17 jewel Waltham mechanical wind movement is running fine and keeping time This watch has just been serviced (cleaned, oiled, time regulated and a new mainspring was installed.) I have included various pictures of this watch and my description can not possibly describe the watch in detail -- it is one of those items that must be seen to be believed and appreciated.  This is a very unusual Art Deco period wristwatch that is in excellent overall condition and fit for any collection.

This is a super nice "Roaring Twenties" U.S.A. Waltham wristwatch. The case is a three part (hinged) "swing-out" 14K White Gold Filled "tank style" measuring 1-1/16” across and 1-5/16" lug to lug.  The super "minty" dial has a silver satin background color highlighted with applied fancy (Gothic-style) Art Deco-era Arabic numerals (that are coated with radium) and is signed Waltham.  The antique-style hour and minute hands are highlighted in black with radium filled central sections and there is a very nicely detailed sunken seconds sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position. It includes a brand new genuine leather crocodile textured 5/8" black strap with a silver toned buckle.  The mechanical wind movement is running fine and keeping time and is marked AWWCO, Waltham U.S.A., Sapphire, and the serial number 24644158 (which dates this watch back to 1924.) The inside of the swing out case is marked U.S.A., 6/0 W, Keystone Watch Case (with the keystone symbol), J. Boss, and 14K Gold Filled. This is a very nice Art Deco "Roaring Twenties" period tank style wristwatch that is in excellent overall condition.  Great for everyday wear or fit for any collection.
